• SHINee's Minho Talks About His Family’s Fun Drinking Tradition and How He Competes with His Father

SHINee's Minho revealed some fun family traditions and his dedication to staying fit during his appearance on SBS's My Little Old Boy on December 1st.

Minho impressed the show’s hosts by sharing that his body fat percentage is just 7.2%, a number usually seen in professional athletes.

Seo Jang-hoon was amazed, noting that it’s the body fat of a lean athlete. Minho explained that he works out up to four times a day on his days off to maintain such a fit body.

He also opened up about his family’s annual New Year’s tradition, which has become a competitive drinking event.

"Until 2024, it will be the 4th edition, and soon we’ll have the 5th," Minho said. "Our whole family drinks together. It didn’t start this way, but now it’s a drinking battle. Who can handle their alcohol the best?"

Minho shared a funny moment from the third edition of the event, where his brother got so drunk that he became emotional and cried, which meant he lost the competition.

"The next day, my brother and I felt terrible, but my father went to work out and even did a hangover cure," Minho added with a laugh.

When asked how much they drink, Minho said, “We each drink more than five bottles of soju.” Seo Jang Hoon then asked about his mother’s reaction, and Minho replied, “She finds it very embarrassing. But since it’s once a year, she forgives us. It’s become a family event.”

Minho’s father, born in 1962, is a former football player, and Minho shared that his family tries to stick to the tradition only on January 1st.

"Even if my brother and I have other plans, we always go all out on New Year’s Day. I can’t lose anymore," he said, showing his determination to win against his father.

Fans got a glimpse of Minho’s playful side and his strong family bond, while also seeing his dedication to both fitness and family traditions.

  • Former Crayon Pop's ChoA Opens Up About Her Struggle with Cervical Cancer: 'I Dream of the Day I Can Have a Drink with My Husband Again'"

ChoA, former member of the girl group Crayon Pop, has bravely shared her ongoing battle with cervical cancer and her emotional journey.

On January 28, ChoA posted a heartfelt update on her social media, explaining her struggles. "I usually laugh, talk, and live my life as usual, but there are moments when I suddenly face a reality that isn’t like before, and it gets tough," she shared.

She went on to say, "Recently, something difficult happened, and in the past, I would have had a drink with my husband to shake it off. I really miss being able to do that."

ChoA admitted that she still can’t fully believe her diagnosis. "When I face the reality I’ve been avoiding, my heart that I’ve built up breaks down," she said. "But the life I’m living now, which I’m still enjoying, is something that someone else might be wishing for. I try to gather my thoughts again with gratitude."

She also expressed hope for the future, saying, "Lately, I dream of a day five years from now when I’ll be declared cancer-free and be able to have a drink with my husband after putting the kids to bed, after all the struggles. It’s been almost two years, so I believe the day I get that clean bill of health will come soon."

ChoA married a businessman in 2021, six years older than her. In October 2023, she revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis, sharing that she had been diagnosed during a routine check-up in her first year of marriage.

Despite everything, ChoA remains hopeful, noting that the cancer was smaller than expected during surgery, and she was able to preserve her fertility—a step closer to her dream of becoming a mother.
