BTS's Jungkook is making history with a record 6 nominations at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs), the most nominations ever for a K-pop artist.
On November 25 (local time), the BBMA nominees were revealed, and Jungkook was nominated in multiple categories. He earned a spot in the "Top Song Sales Artist" category, which includes artists from all genres, not just K-pop.
Jungkook’s solo album GOLDEN and its hit track "Standing Next to You" are both nominated for "Top Selling Song."
This makes Jungkook the first K-pop solo artist to be nominated for both "Top Song Sales Artist" and "Top Selling Song."
In addition to that, Jungkook is also up for "Top Global K-Pop Artist" and "Top Global K-Pop Song." His solo singles "3D" and "Standing Next to You" from GOLDEN are both in the running for "Top Global K-Pop Song."
Jungkook’s album GOLDEN also secured a nomination for "Top K-Pop Album," bringing his total to 6 nominations across 5 categories.
Last year, Jungkook won the "Top Global K-Pop Song" award at the 2023 BBMAs for his chart-topping solo single "Seven," which spent 9 weeks at number 1 on the "Global (excluding US)" chart and topped the "Global 200" for 7 weeks.
