• Stray Kids Nominated for 4 Categories at 2024 Billboard Music Awards, Marking Their 2nd Consecutive Year

Stray Kids has been nominated for the Billboard Music Awards (BBMAs) for the second year in a row!

On November 25th (local time), the Billboard Music Awards announced Stray Kids’ nominations for the 2024 BBMAs, which will take place on December 12th. The group is nominated in four categories: Top Duo/Group, Top K-Pop Album, and Top Global K-Pop Artist.

This is a continuation of their success from last year, where they earned nominations for Top K-Pop Album and Top Global K-Pop Artist. This year, they’ve added Top Duo/Group to their list, showing their growing influence.

Stray Kids made history at the 2023 BBMAs when they won Top K-Pop Album for their third studio album ★★★★★ (5-STAR). They became the first 4th-gen K-pop boy group and only the second boy group in history to win that award. For this year’s BBMAs, Stray Kids has two albums nominated in the Top K-Pop Album category: the mini-albums 樂-STAR and ATE, making them the only K-pop artist with two albums nominated in this category. They are also nominated alongside global acts like Blink-182, Coldplay, Fuerza Regida, and Linkin Park in the Top Duo/Group category.

Stray Kids has been making waves on major U.S. music charts, including the Billboard 200 and Hot 100. Since their mini-album ODDINARY in March 2022, followed by MAXIDENT in October 2022, and ★★★★★ (5-STAR) in June 2023, they’ve topped the Billboard 200 five times with five consecutive albums. Their track 락 (樂) from 樂-STAR made history as the first song by a 4th-gen K-pop boy group to enter the Hot 100. Their digital single Lose My Breath (Feat. Charlie Puth) and Chk Chk Boom from ATE also earned them spots on the Hot 100, breaking their personal records.

Stray Kids also won Best K-Pop at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards with their track from ★★★★★ (5-STAR), and they’ve continued their success this year, taking home awards at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. Their track SLASH from the movie Deadpool & Wolverine was even nominated for Best Compilation Soundtrack at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.

Stray Kids is ready to keep their momentum going with the release of their SKZHOP HIPTAPE 合 (HOP) and its title track Walkin On Water, which drops on December 13th at 2 PM (midnight EST).

  • Former Crayon Pop's ChoA Opens Up About Her Struggle with Cervical Cancer: 'I Dream of the Day I Can Have a Drink with My Husband Again'"

ChoA, former member of the girl group Crayon Pop, has bravely shared her ongoing battle with cervical cancer and her emotional journey.

On January 28, ChoA posted a heartfelt update on her social media, explaining her struggles. "I usually laugh, talk, and live my life as usual, but there are moments when I suddenly face a reality that isn’t like before, and it gets tough," she shared.

She went on to say, "Recently, something difficult happened, and in the past, I would have had a drink with my husband to shake it off. I really miss being able to do that."

ChoA admitted that she still can’t fully believe her diagnosis. "When I face the reality I’ve been avoiding, my heart that I’ve built up breaks down," she said. "But the life I’m living now, which I’m still enjoying, is something that someone else might be wishing for. I try to gather my thoughts again with gratitude."

She also expressed hope for the future, saying, "Lately, I dream of a day five years from now when I’ll be declared cancer-free and be able to have a drink with my husband after putting the kids to bed, after all the struggles. It’s been almost two years, so I believe the day I get that clean bill of health will come soon."

ChoA married a businessman in 2021, six years older than her. In October 2023, she revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis, sharing that she had been diagnosed during a routine check-up in her first year of marriage.

Despite everything, ChoA remains hopeful, noting that the cancer was smaller than expected during surgery, and she was able to preserve her fertility—a step closer to her dream of becoming a mother.
