• BTS's Jungkook’s GOLDEN LP Breaks Records with Historic Sales and Chart Success

BTS's Jungkook is proving his solo power with his album GOLDEN, which continues to set new records. According to the Circle Album Chart, operated by the Korea Music Content Association (KMCA), GOLDEN debuted at number 3, making a huge impact.

As of Week 45 of 2024, GOLDEN sold 94,067 copies in just two days, securing its place in the top 3. This quick success shows the album’s massive popularity.

Jungkook also made history by setting the record for the highest sales by a debut solo LP (vinyl) from a K-pop artist. Last month, GOLDEN surpassed 2.82 million copies in total sales, making it the highest-selling solo album in Circle Album Chart history. It's now on track to achieve "Triple Million Seller" status.

On Hanteo Chart, GOLDEN sold over 80,000 copies on its first day, topping the daily physical album chart and setting a new record for the highest first-day LP sales in Hanteo’s history.

Earlier, GOLDEN ranked number one on Circle Chart’s "2023 Year-End Cumulative Album Sales Top 15," with 2.7 million copies sold, claiming the top spot among both male and female solo K-pop artists for 2023 album sales.

On Hanteo Chart, the album hit "Double Million Seller" status after selling over 2 million copies within just 5 hours of release. It also set a new record for first-week sales ("초동") for K-pop solo artists. Within just two weeks, GOLDEN sold 2.5 million copies, marking the first solo album in 13 years (since Hanteo’s system revision in 2010) to surpass 2.5 million copies sold.

GOLDEN also made history on the international charts, becoming the first solo album by an Asian artist to stay on Billboard's Billboard 200 for 24 weeks in a row. It also spent 8 weeks on the UK Official Top 100 Album Chart, the longest streak for any K-pop solo artist.

On Spotify, GOLDEN became the first album by an Asian solo artist to surpass 4.6 billion streams, achieving this milestone faster than any other Asian artist. The album also set a new record by staying on the "Weekly Top Albums Global" chart for 54 weeks in a row, the longest streak for any Asian solo artist.

Jungkook continues to break records, and GOLDEN solidifies his place as a "record-breaking album maker."
