BTS's Jimin shined brightly at the '2024 MAMA AWARDS' with a grand prize win, cementing his status as a global icon.
The ceremony, held on November 22 at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan, saw Jimin take home the prestigious VISA Fans' Choice of the Year award, one of the event's four grand prizes. This achievement highlights Jimin’s immense popularity and influence as a "world-class" artist.
This marks Jimin's second consecutive year of major wins at MAMA. Last year, he won Best Male Artist as a soloist and was part of BTS’s victories for Worldwide Artist of the Year, Best OST, and Worldwide Icon of the Year. This year, his solo success soared to new heights with this grand prize win.
BTS's dominance was also evident in the Fans' Choice Male Top 10 category, where Jimin, along with RM, V, and Jungkook, all received awards, showcasing the group's continued global impact.
Jimin's second solo album, MUSE, released in July, has been a huge success. It peaked at No. 2 on the U.S. Billboard 200 chart, while its title track, Who, debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. These achievements have kept Jimin on Billboard's main charts for an impressive 17 weeks straight.
On Spotify, Jimin also broke new records. His hit Who became the fastest Korean song in 2024 to surpass 1 billion streams, as of November 13, making it the only K-pop track this year to reach this milestone.
With these achievements, Jimin continues to prove why he is one of the most celebrated artists in the world. Congratulations to Jimin!
