BTS’s Jimin has once again touched hearts with his generosity, even while serving in the military.
On November 22, the Chungnam Social Welfare Community Chest revealed that Jimin donated ₩100 million to the Army’s “Comradeship Fund for Dedication to the Nation.”
This fund, managed with the Army, helps soldiers and their families in need. By making this donation, Jimin became a member of the Honor Society, a group for donors who give ₩100 million or more.
This isn’t Jimin’s first time joining a prestigious donor group. In 2021, he joined the Green Noble Club after donating over ₩100 million to ChildFund Korea on his birthday. His recent donation holds special meaning as it was made during his military service.
The "Comradeship Fund," established in 2018, provides support like living expenses, medical help, and scholarships for soldiers and their families. Jimin’s contribution will directly assist those who have sacrificed for the nation.
Jimin has always been dedicated to giving back:
- 2018: He funded uniforms for students at his old school.
- 2019: Donated ₩100 million to the Busan Education Office.
- 2020: Provided ₩100 million for scholarships and replaced desks and chairs at Busan High School of Arts.
- 2021: Donated ₩100 million to Rotary International to fight polio.
- 2022: Donated ₩100 million to the Gangwon Education Office.
- 2023: Contributed ₩100 million to UNICEF Korea for Türkiye-Syria earthquake relief and ₩100 million to the Chungbuk Education Office.
Jimin also supports education at his alma mater, providing ₩30 million in scholarships this August, with total donations to his school reaching ₩160 million since 2019.
Even Jimin’s father has carried on this giving spirit, donating ₩100 million to the Gyeongnam Education Office in May and funding a scholarship at Dong-Eui Science University in April.
Jimin’s kind heart and commitment to helping others continue to inspire fans and make a lasting impact. His quiet yet powerful acts of generosity are a true testament to his character.
