SEVENTEEN's Jun is set to make his mark in the world of drama with a role in the Chinese fantasy comedy period drama Yun Gui Xi Shi (云?喜事).
Jun began filming the drama on November 15, where he plays the character Wen Liang Zhen (文良辰). The series is the second adaptation of the Chinese web novel Tang Zhen (唐?), and it will be released on the Chinese OTT platform iQIYI. The story follows a group of characters who pursue justice and love, overcoming various challenges in a fantastical, comedic, and historical setting.
Wen Liang Zhen, the character Jun portrays, is making his debut in this season of the drama. Jun shared his excitement about the role during the drama's initial filming event, saying, "Appearing in a period drama is a new challenge for me. I want to fully embrace the character with the motivation to do my best. I'll work hard to show a satisfying performance."
Jun has already made a name for himself in acting. He debuted in 2006 with the film The Wild Goose and went on to win the Best Newcomer Award at the Hong Kong Film Directors' Guild the following year. He also became the first Chinese child actor to be nominated for the Best New Actor category at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards.
Last year, Jun won the Popularity Award at the Busan International Film Festival’s Asian Contents Awards & Global OTT Awards for his starring role in Du Jia Tong Hua (独家童话).
