BTS's Jimin has once again proven his overwhelming popularity with the strong support of his Japanese fans.
Jimin took first place in the "October K-Pop Male Idol Popularity Poll" conducted by the Japanese Hallyu media outlet Danmee, which ran from October 15 to October 29, 2024.
Out of a total of 5,866 votes, Jimin earned 2,125 votes, making up 36.23% of the total, securing the top spot and setting a remarkable new record of 20 consecutive months in first place.
The survey aimed to capture the true voices of K-pop fans and was held under strict voting rules, allowing only one vote per person.
The poll considered factors such as Jimin’s activities in Korea, brand reputation index (provided by BRAND REPUTATION INDEX), monthly mentions on X (formerly Twitter), and related media coverage to select the 28 most popular male K-pop idols at the time.
With this win, Jimin has now maintained his position at the top for an impressive 20 months. Alongside this achievement, Danmee also announced that Jimin’s solo exhibition The Truth Untold: Fanne Gruit IN JAPAN will take place in Tokyo from January 10 to February 16, 2025.
The exhibition will showcase his solo albums and feature stage outfits, props, trophies, and more. The exhibit has already garnered huge interest, after causing a sensation during its run in Seoul from October 11 to November 3.
In other news, Jimin’s solo track Who, released during his military service, hit a massive milestone on November 13, surpassing 1 billion streams on Spotify.
This achievement came just 118 days after its release, setting a new record as the fastest solo song by a male artist worldwide to reach this milestone.
With this, Jimin becomes the first K-pop artist to have two solo tracks in Spotify’s 1 Billion Club, further solidifying his unique presence in the music world.
