BTS’s V has made history with his solo album 'Layover' as every track has surpassed 120 million streams on Spotify, marking the first time a K-pop solo artist has achieved this milestone.
On November 16th, V's song "Slow Dancing (Piano Version)" reached 120 million streams, contributing to this groundbreaking achievement. With 'Layover', V becomes the first K-pop solo artist to have all tracks from an album exceed 120 million streams.
As of November 18th, the tracks from 'Layover' have reached the following stream counts on Spotify: 'Love Me Again' (949 million), 'Slow Dancing' (450 million), 'Rainy Days' (309 million), 'For Us' (129 million), and 'Blue' (127 million).
'Layover' is an album that truly showcases V’s unique voice and musical style. The album highlights his natural charm and offers a more refined, intimate side of him as a solo artist, distinct from BTS's music. It has received praise for expressing V’s delicate musical sensibility and for capturing the essence of V as an artist.
The album has earned high praise, with Timeout magazine in the UK naming it one of the “Best Albums of 2023”, and it ranked No. 2 in Billboard’s “Top 25 K-pop Albums of 2023”. Billboard praised 'Layover' for setting itself apart from BTS albums and showcasing V’s unique artistic identity.
