BLACKPINK's Rosé recently revealed her deep admiration for her junior group, NewJeans, while discussing her solo comeback and more.
In an interview with i-D magazine on November 18 (local time), Rosé shared stories about her career and opened up about her first full-length album, 'Rosie.'
Talking about her album, Rosé said, "This is my first chance to show people the 'real Rosie,' but I worried about whether I would mess it up." She added, "Making this album was a healing journey for me. It was the only time I felt mentally stable."
Rosé also shared her emotional struggles, saying, "I spent many nights crying myself to sleep, moving between hotels and Airbnbs. I stayed up late checking people's reactions online, feeling overly conscious of myself." She emphasized, "I wanted to show everyone that I’m just like them, someone who feels the same emotions."
The interview also touched on the global success of her song 'Apartment,' a collaboration with pop icon Bruno Mars. Rosé admitted, "I never expected the song to be loved so quickly. I hoped people would dance and enjoy it, but I was genuinely surprised by how many people reacted to it right after its release."
When asked about NewJeans and their ongoing conflict with HYBE, Rosé kept her response short but heartfelt, saying, "I want to focus on positive things. I really love those girls."
She also reflected on the difference between working with BLACKPINK and creating her solo album. Rosé said, "BLACKPINK is like the realization of my dream, while 'Rosie' is about showing who I am now and the new dreams I’m chasing."
Fans are loving this honest and emotional side of Rosé as she continues to make waves in both her group and solo projects.
