BTS member V (Kim Taehyung) is continuing to show his solo star power! His song "Slow Dancing" has officially surpassed 450 million streams on Spotify, proving its lasting popularity among fans worldwide.

As of November 17, the dreamy R&B track has crossed this impressive milestone. "Slow Dancing," inspired by the soulful vibes of the 1970s, stands out with V's romantic vocals and a surprising flute solo that adds a special charm to the song.

This achievement places "Slow Dancing" alongside V's other solo hits, including "Love Me Again," which recently surpassed 900 million streams, and fan favorites like "Christmas Tree," "Friends," and "Sweet Night," each with over 400 million streams.

The song’s relaxing, unhurried vibe perfectly matches its title. A highlight is the bold one-minute flute solo near the end, something rare in today’s music trends.

Fans and critics have praised "Slow Dancing" for blending classic styles with a modern twist, making it a standout in the K-pop genre.

When it was released, "Slow Dancing" made an impressive debut on several global charts. It ranked #51 on the Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the Digital Song Sales chart, and reached #3 on the Global (Excl. US) chart.

Over in the UK, it debuted at #1 on the Singles Download and Singles Sales charts, staying on the charts for 11 weeks—setting a new record for K-pop soloists.

V's album Layover, which features "Slow Dancing," has also received critical acclaim. British magazine TimeOut ranked it #19 on its "30 Best Albums of 2023" list, praising the soulful track for its choreography and overall vibe. Billboard named Layover the #2 Best K-pop Album of 2023, calling it a charming reflection of V’s artistic vision.

"Slow Dancing" is more than just a hit; it’s a testament to V's ability to balance artistry with global appeal, carving out his own unique identity as a soloist while keeping fans captivated.

  • Former Crayon Pop's ChoA Opens Up About Her Struggle with Cervical Cancer: 'I Dream of the Day I Can Have a Drink with My Husband Again'"

ChoA, former member of the girl group Crayon Pop, has bravely shared her ongoing battle with cervical cancer and her emotional journey.

On January 28, ChoA posted a heartfelt update on her social media, explaining her struggles. "I usually laugh, talk, and live my life as usual, but there are moments when I suddenly face a reality that isn’t like before, and it gets tough," she shared.

She went on to say, "Recently, something difficult happened, and in the past, I would have had a drink with my husband to shake it off. I really miss being able to do that."

ChoA admitted that she still can’t fully believe her diagnosis. "When I face the reality I’ve been avoiding, my heart that I’ve built up breaks down," she said. "But the life I’m living now, which I’m still enjoying, is something that someone else might be wishing for. I try to gather my thoughts again with gratitude."

She also expressed hope for the future, saying, "Lately, I dream of a day five years from now when I’ll be declared cancer-free and be able to have a drink with my husband after putting the kids to bed, after all the struggles. It’s been almost two years, so I believe the day I get that clean bill of health will come soon."

ChoA married a businessman in 2021, six years older than her. In October 2023, she revealed her cervical cancer diagnosis, sharing that she had been diagnosed during a routine check-up in her first year of marriage.

Despite everything, ChoA remains hopeful, noting that the cancer was smaller than expected during surgery, and she was able to preserve her fertility—a step closer to her dream of becoming a mother.
