• BTS's V Dominates Japan's Popularity Polls with 187-Week Streak as Fans Show Major Love

    BTS's V has once again shown his unbeatable popularity in Japan, ranking first in major popularity polls. V topped the male idol rankings on Japan's popular idol ranking site, NEHAN, for the week of November 4 to November 10, marking an incredible 187 weeks in a row at No. 1!

    He didn't stop there. V also secured first place for 38 straight weeks on the actor popularity site BIHAN and has led in the "20s Korean Actor" category for 185 weeks. Over on K-board, a K-culture information site, he’s held the top spot for 145 weeks in "K-pop Idol," "Male Artist," and "Flower Boy Election" categories. Additionally, on KPOP JUICE, he accumulated over 5.22 million votes, keeping his place as the undisputed No. 1 across all periods.

    Since the Korean Wave began, V has become one of the most recognized Korean stars in Japan, trending frequently on Google Japan and social media site X. His influence even reaches Japan's MZ generation and public figures in various fields, from sports to entertainment.

    Recently, Japanese figure skater Rino Matsuike, who just took home a silver medal at the 2024 ISU Grand Prix, expressed her love for BTS in an interview. She shared, "I love BTS, so I always listen to their music before competing…Their music lifts my spirits." When asked about her favorite BTS song, she chose Mikrokosmos, saying, "I can sing along to the whole song. It really keeps me feeling good."

    But when it comes to her favorite BTS member, Rino didn't hesitate to mention V. "I like V, Taehyung oppa, the most. I collect his photocards, watch a lot of his videos, and even have his merch." During one of her competitions, a fan even threw a TATA doll (V's character) onto the rink for her. "I was so thrilled!" she said.

    V has admirers not just in entertainment but also among Japanese sports stars. Golf champion Sakura Koiwai, currently No. 1 on the JLPGA Tour, also shared her love for BTS, saying, "I'm a fan of BTS, and I especially love V, Taetae."

    BTS member Jin is taking the world by storm with his hit song Running Wild.

    Released on November 15, Running Wild is the title track from Jin's first solo album, Happy. The song blends a fresh new wave sound with British rock influences and pop rock elements, catching the attention of fans worldwide.

    On November 21, Running Wild reached the top spot on Spotify Japan's Daily Top Songs chart, showing its massive popularity.

    It also ranked No. 2 on the Spotify Top Songs chart in Korea and No. 6 globally, proving its broad appeal.

    Jin’s solo album Happy has also been a huge success. It sold over 219,000 copies on its first day, making it the third-highest album sales for a K-pop solo artist in Oricon Weekly Album Chart history.

    In just three days, Happy reached No. 1 on the Hanteo Country-by-Country Chart in Japan for the third week of November, solidifying Jin's status as a top global artist.
