• BTS’s Jimin Wins ‘Best K-Pop’ at 2024 MTV EMA While on Military Duty

BTS's Jimin has once again shown his incredible worldwide popularity! On November 10, Jimin was awarded the ‘Best K-Pop’ prize at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards (EMA), held at Co-op Live in Manchester, England. This major win highlights Jimin’s huge influence, even while he's currently serving in the military.

Earlier this year, Jimin made waves with his second solo album, MUSE, featuring the hit track Who. The song broke records, staying on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for 15 weeks, making it the longest-charting song by a K-pop artist in 2024.

In the UK, Who also held its place on the Official Singles Chart for an impressive 16 weeks, showing that Jimin’s popularity stretches across the world’s biggest music charts.

Jimin started his solo journey in March last year with FACE, an album that quickly made history. The lead track, Like Crazy, took him to the top of Billboard’s Hot 100, making him the first Korean solo artist to claim that spot. He also became the first Korean solo artist to hit No. 1 on the Artist 100 chart, proving his unmatched influence in K-pop.

Jimin’s achievements kept growing as he became the most-nominated K-pop solo artist at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards with four nominations: Top Selling Song, Top Global K-Pop Artist, Top Global K-Pop Song, and Top K-Pop Album. He also became the first K-pop soloist, and the first Asian soloist, nominated for Top Selling Song—another record that solidified his role as a ‘K-Pop Frontman.’

Currently, Jimin’s latest single Who is still trending globally, ranking 4th on Spotify’s Weekly Top Songs Global chart for November 1-7, even months after its release. His constant success makes it clear that Jimin’s star shines bright, whether he’s on stage or fulfilling his military duty.

  • Former BTOB Member Jung Ilhoon Shares Thoughts on Music Comeback After 5 Years

Former BTOB member Jung Ilhoon has shared his thoughts on returning to the music scene after a five-year hiatus.

On November 24, Jung Ilhoon announced his comeback through Instagram, revealing his new single, Lullaby.

He expressed his gratitude, writing, “It’s been a while, but I’m happy to greet you with the single Lullaby. Thank you to the fans who supported me during this long wait, and I’m also grateful to everyone who helped me along the way.”

He also reflected on the emotional significance of his return, saying, “This feels like a moment we both dreamed of—fans and I alike—which makes it especially meaningful. I hope you’ll continue to support me as I move forward.”

Jung Ilhoon first debuted with BTOB in 2012 and gained recognition for his talent as a rapper and songwriter. However, in 2020, he left the group after admitting to charges of habitual marijuana use.

Initially sentenced to two years in prison, his sentence was later reduced to a suspended sentence of three years during an appeal, allowing for his release.

Following the incident, he publicly apologized, saying, “I deeply regret the harm I caused to society and the disappointment I brought to those who trusted me. I promise to live righteously and not bring pain to anyone again.”

Fans are now eagerly awaiting Ilhoon’s new single, Lullaby, marking his first step back into the music world.
