The group EPEX has set a new record by surpassing 1 million cumulative album sales with the release of their second full album.
On the 8th, their agency C9 Entertainment announced, “EPEX has reached over 1 million in total album sales from six mini-albums and two full albums.”
Since their debut in 2021, EPEX has been steadily gaining momentum with non-stop activities. Their fourth mini-album, Prelude of Love Chapter 1. Puppy Love, and fifth mini-album, Prelude of Love Chapter 2. Growing Pains, each sold over 100,000 copies, while their sixth mini-album, Prelude of Anxiety Chapter 2. Can We Surrender?, and first full album, Youth Prelude Chapter 1: Youth Days, both exceeded 200,000 sales, showcasing their growing popularity and influence.
Notably, EPEX’s recent release on the 5th, their second full album Youth Prelude Chapter 2: Lack of Youth, sold over 130,000 copies on its first day, topping the Hanteo Chart’s daily physical album rankings.
Approaching a “career high,” EPEX is actively promoting their comeback with the title track “UNIVERSE.” The group’s enhanced musical confidence and upgraded performances are captivating global fans through various music show stages and content.
Buoyed by this support, Youth Prelude Chapter 2: Lack of Youth has charted on iTunes Top Albums in Russia, Vietnam, Japan, and Germany, as well as Turkey’s Apple Music album chart. The “UNIVERSE” music video has also surpassed 10 million views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Youth Prelude Chapter 2: Lack of Youth is the second album in EPEX’s “Youth Trilogy” series, started this year. This album explores the experiences of youth, including feelings of lack, choices, fulfillment, and mindset, across eight tracks. The title track “UNIVERSE” features a shuffle beat and direct melody, delivering the powerful message, “My universe has to be you,” with EPEX’s rich and youthful emotion.
