BTS’s V (Kim Taehyung) has reached an incredible milestone of over 3.8 billion streams on Spotify with his solo music, showing just how popular he is worldwide.
As of October 30, the total streams on songs credited to V’s Spotify profile crossed 3.8 billion. This impressive number includes tracks from his solo album Layover, OSTs from dramas, self-composed songs, and his single Friends (FRI(END)S), which he released during his military service.
Unlike many artists, V achieved this without any big-name collaborations, relying solely on his solo and self-composed music.
His single Friends, released on March 15, also hit a milestone of 400 million streams on Spotify as of November 1, making it one of his four solo songs to reach that mark. Friends even became the most-streamed K-pop solo song on Spotify for the first half of 2024.
V’s debut solo album, Layover, which was released on September 8, 2023, also hit a major achievement with over 2 billion total streams by October 27. It’s now the third K-pop solo album to cross this mark.
Impressively, Layover is the first K-pop solo album where every track has surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify. Each track topped the Spotify Global Weekly Chart and hit number one on iTunes album charts in 110 countries.
His track Love Me Again from Layover has remained on Spotify’s global chart for over 450 days since it first came out, making it the only K-pop B-side to stay on the chart this long.
V currently has over 18.9 million followers on Spotify, making him the first K-pop solo artist to reach this milestone. He’s now the most-followed K-pop solo artist on the platform, ranking fourth among all K-pop acts and 107th in the world on Spotify’s most-followed artists list.
Globally, only 266 artists have more than 10 million followers, highlighting V’s huge presence as a solo artist.
