The excitement around "APT." is soaring!
According to Billboard on October 29 (Korea time), BLACKPINK member Rosé and pop star Bruno Mars’ duet "APT." has reached an impressive No. 8 on the Hot 100, the main chart in the U.S.
With this achievement, Rosé becomes the first K-pop female artist to break into the Billboard Hot 100 top 10. Previously, BLACKPINK's collaboration with Selena Gomez, "Ice Cream," peaked at No. 13 back in 2020.
"Apt." is also making waves on various charts both in Korea and around the world, leading the current challenge culture.
The song is part of Rosé's upcoming first full album, which will be released on December 6. It was released as a pre-single on October 18 and was inspired by the popular "Apartment Game" in Korea.
Rosé explained, “The 'Apartment Game' is one of my favorite games; it’s simple, fun, and perfect for creating a lively atmosphere. One night in the studio, I showed the game to the staff, and after seeing everyone enjoy it, we started working on the song, which Bruno Mars later joined to complete it.”
Upon its release, "APT." achieved a 'PAK' (Perfect All Kill) by topping real-time and daily charts on major Korean music sites like Melon, Genie, Bugs, and Vibe. It also surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify and claimed the No. 1 spot on iTunes in 40 regions, proving the strength of the "APT." phenomenon.
The song also hit No. 1 on QQ Music, the biggest music platform in China, showing its influence in both the Americas and Asia. Notably, with "APT.," Rosé set new career records as the first female solo artist from Korea to reach No. 1 on U.S. Spotify and the Global Spotify Top Songs chart.
