BLACKPINK member Rosé has made headlines again as her collaboration with American star Bruno Mars on the song "APT." has been labeled a prohibited song for the college entrance exam.
Released on October 18, "APT." quickly gained massive popularity, hitting over 100 million views on YouTube just five days later on the 23rd.
The music video racked up 25 million views within the first 24 hours and has consistently ranked at the top of trending videos and music charts.
The catchy chorus of "Apateu, Apateu" has captured the hearts of listeners worldwide, inspiring sing-alongs in clubs and prompting a wave of challenge videos on social media. Even pop star Charlie Puth said the song "won't leave my head."
Because of its addictive nature, "APT." is now on the list of prohibited songs for the college entrance exam, which is set for November 14. This decision has raised concerns among students who need to focus during their studies.
Other well-known prohibited songs include SHINee's "Ring Ding Dong," SS501's "U R Man," and Red Velvet's "Dum Dum." Recently, Aespa's "Supernova," BIBI's "Bamyanggang," and Choi Yena's "Nemo Nemo" have also been added to the list.
Meanwhile, "APT." is a pre-release track for Rosé's upcoming solo album titled "ROSIE," which will drop on December 6. The song has already made waves in both domestic and international music markets.
Notably, Rosé became the first female solo artist from South Korea to top both the U.S. Spotify charts and the Global Spotify Daily Top Songs chart with this single.
On December 6, Rosé will release her first full solo album, which will feature a total of 12 tracks, including the title song. She has been involved in writing and composing all the songs, promising to share authentic stories through her music.
