• Song Ji Hyo to Experience Life as a "Female Driver" in New Documentary

Actress Song Ji Hyo is ready to dive into a new role as a "haenyeo" in the upcoming documentary Deep Dive Korea: Song Ji Hyo’s Haenyeo Adventure. This exciting project is a collaboration between BBC Studios and JTBC, where Song Ji-hyo will face one of the biggest challenges of her life.

In this documentary, Song Ji Hyo will undergo rigorous training to become a haenyeo, which involves free diving and learning about the daily lives of these legendary women divers.

With her mother being a former swimmer and her aunt a haenyeo, Song Ji Hyo has always had a passion for the ocean. She plans to condense the intense training required to become a haenyeo into a short timeframe. This challenge will test her physically and mentally, allowing her to show a different side of herself. Viewers can also look forward to stunning views of Jeju Island, known as one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World.

The haenyeo culture of Jeju has unique cultural significance and was recognized by UNESCO as part of the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2016. As fans await to see how Song Ji Hyo will represent the wisdom, culture, and incredible skills of the haenyeo, there are also reports that she is dedicated to promoting Asian content globally, raising expectations for the documentary.

On October 23rd, Song Ji Hyo shared her excitement through her agency, Nexus Entertainment, saying, "I am honored to be part of a project that showcases Korea’s precious cultural heritage to the world. Through my challenges, I hope to inspire more people to learn about haenyeo culture and K-content. I want to go beyond just the haenyeo experience and reveal their real lives, showing my growth along the way. I hope you all look forward to it!"

Deep Dive Korea: Song Ji Hyo’s Haenyeo Adventure is set to air across Asia in early 2025 on JTBC and BBC Earth channels.

  • "BTS’s Jin was scary at first?" -Actress Ji Ye Eun says she was afraid to get close but now they fight like real siblings

Actress Ji Ye Eun recently shared her honest thoughts about working with BTS's Jin and how their relationship grew during filming.

On April 29, a video titled “Actually, Ji Ye Eun doesn’t know how to curse—riding in one car with her” was uploaded on VIVO TV’s YouTube channel. In the video, Ji Ye Eun opened up about her experience filming the Netflix show Fishing Brothers: Season of Crazy Fun (Daehwanjang Gianjang).

She revealed that she got her boat license just for the show. “After trying it on the Han River, I felt confident about the driving part. It was actually easier than I thought. But the written test was so hard,” she said. “It’s completely different from driving a car, so it was confusing. I took the test so many times that the people at the test center started to recognize me and even wished me good luck. I went almost every two days,” she said, laughing.

Ji Ye Eun also shared how happy she was with the show’s success. “As of filming day, I heard the show was ranked third. I really care about that kind of thing. Since we all worked so hard, I hope more people watch and enjoy it.”

When asked by Song Eun I if she got close to castmates Gian 84 and Jin, she responded honestly. “Even though we didn’t spend a long time together, we went through a lot and got close. At first, I didn’t know how to talk to Jin oppa. He’s a world star, so I was nervous. I even worried I’d get hate comments for being near him. But once filming started, those worries disappeared,” she said.

Ji Ye Eun then made everyone laugh by adding, “Jin oppa and I became like real siblings. We argued a lot, and Gian 84 oppa had to stop us!”

Meanwhile, Ji Ye Eun is currently appearing on SBS’s Running Man, continuing to grow her popularity on variety shows.
