NewJeans members Minji and Danielle showed their strong support for fellow member Hanni after her emotional appearance at the National Assembly audit. Their words of encouragement reflect the close bond shared by the group.
On the 18th, Minji and Hanni appeared together for a live broadcast on NewJeans' official fan platform, Phoning. During the broadcast, Minji shared her thoughts about Hanni’s brave participation in the audit. "I only caught the part where Hanni first spoke at the National Assembly," Minji said. "I had a schedule afterward, but when I checked later, I saw about 100 pictures of Hanni crying." This comment grabbed fans' attention.
Hanni, lightening the mood, jokingly replied, "Who took all those pictures? I need to talk to them!"
Minji then showed her pride for Hanni, saying, "I was cheering inside, thinking, 'That’s my girl!'" Her words expressed the group's close friendship and support.
Danielle also shared her feelings the day before, saying, "Our amazing unnie. I watched everything from start to finish, and I was so nervous the whole time." She added that she ran to hug Hanni as soon as she returned to their dorm in tears, showing how much they care for one another.
Hanni had appeared as a witness at the National Assembly’s audit on October 15, where she spoke about her personal experiences with bullying within HYBE. She explained how a manager from another group once told others to "just ignore her," which deeply affected her. Hanni said, "I don’t understand why I had to go through that, and this wasn’t just a one-time thing."
Hanni decided to testify to ensure that no one else would have to face similar situations. "If I didn’t speak out today, this issue might be buried," she explained. "I came forward so no senior, junior artist, or trainee would have to go through this."
In her tearful closing remarks, Hanni said, "I want to thank the members of the National Assembly for this opportunity. What I’ve learned is that laws can’t solve every problem, but if we treat each other with respect, workplace bullying wouldn’t exist."
She ended by expressing hope for the future, saying, "I hope seniors, juniors, and trainees won’t have to worry about these things anymore. I’ve seen that people care about us, and I’m so grateful for that," shedding tears as she spoke.
Fans and fellow members alike are incredibly proud of Hanni for her bravery and strength.
