A member of Jessi’s team is facing police investigation after an alleged assault on a fan who asked for a photo. On October 14, it was reported by News1 that the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul summoned Producer A for questioning about the incident.
Producer A, a close friend of Jessi, was at the scene when the incident happened. The police want to question A to find the person who attacked the fan and then left quickly.
The situation came to light after a whistleblower shared their experience on JTBC’s 'Incident Director.' They said they were assaulted while trying to take a picture with Jessi's team in Apgujeong, Seoul, on the early morning of September 29.
The whistleblower claimed that the assailant, believed to be A, cursed in English, hit them in the face, and kicked them. They also mentioned that Jessi tried to intervene but left without taking further action.
After the incident, the whistleblower reported the attack to the police. The Gangnam Police confirmed they had to contact A to get more information about the assailant. A is expected to meet with them next week.
Jessi responded to the situation, saying the assailant was someone she had never seen before that day. She expressed her surprise at what happened and apologized for not being able to support her fan better. “I feel a moral responsibility for what happened,” she said.
Jessi also mentioned that her agency has been in contact with the victim's mother to ensure the assailant apologizes and faces consequences for their actions. She urged everyone not to jump to conclusions based on rumors or one-sided stories.
This incident has raised concerns about fan safety and how quickly situations can escalate. Fans hope for a resolution that will address the harm done while also emphasizing the importance of respect for both artists and their supporters. Jessi’s sincerity in addressing the matter shows her commitment to her fans and the responsibility she feels for her team’s actions.
