Tomorrow X Together (TXT) is making waves in Japan with their amazing popularity! Their Japanese single, ‘CHIKAI’ (誓い/Chikai), has shipped over 750,000 copies in just three months, earning them a special ‘Triple Platinum’ certification from the Japan Record Association.
On October 10, the Japan Record Association announced that TXT has achieved this milestone, making them the only overseas artists to receive a ‘Triple Platinum’ award this year. This is the first time TXT has received such a high honor in Japan. Their single ‘CHIKAI’ shipped over 500,000 copies in its first month alone, which led to a ‘Double Platinum’ certification. Due to its continued success, an additional 250,000 copies were sold over the next two months.
With this new certification, TXT now holds a total of 12 gold disc certifications for their albums, with five in Korea and seven in Japan. It all started with their first gold disc, ‘MAGIC HOUR’, in 2020. Since then, they have achieved even more milestones with ‘Chaotic Wonderland’ and ‘GOOD BOY GONE BAD’ receiving ‘Platinum’ and ‘Double Platinum’ certifications, respectively.
TXT’s ‘CHIKAI’ broke records, selling 358,845 copies in its first week, which is still the highest weekly sales for singles by overseas artists in Japan this year! Their popularity continues to grow, especially with their four major dome tours and member Yeonjun’s solo project ‘GGUM’.
Recently, ‘CHIKAI’ reclaimed the top spot on the Japan Oricon ‘Daily Single Ranking’ as of September 26 and reached number two on the ‘Weekly Single Ranking’ for the period covering September 23 to 29.
As they celebrate this achievement, fans are eagerly looking forward to TXT’s new mini-album, ‘Star Chapter: SANCTUARY,’ set to release on November 4. This album opens a new chapter in their journey, continuing the story of finding ‘you,’ which fans are excited to revisit.
With their incredible success, TXT reminds us all that hard work and passion can lead to amazing things. Fans can’t wait to see where this journey takes them next!
