  • Kim Soo Hyun accused of dating two people at once as New report says he allegedly dated an idol-actress for 3 years while being with Kim Sae Ron

A shocking new report has added more twists to the ongoing dating controversy surrounding Kim Soo Hyun and Kim Sae Ron.

On April 25, Money Today reported that Kim Soo Hyun dated an idol-turned-actress, referred to as actress A, for around three years—from 2016 to 2019. This overlaps with the timeline of Kim Sae Ron’s earlier claim, where she said she was in a six-year relationship with Kim Soo Hyun starting from late 2015 to July 2021.

According to insiders, Kim Soo Hyun and actress A got close while working under the same agency. They reportedly became a couple and were together until spring 2019, just a few months before Kim Soo Hyun completed his military service.

One insider said, “It was an open secret in the entertainment industry. Kim Soo Hyun and actress A were definitely dating. He even sent her handwritten letters while he was in the military.” They added, “It doesn’t make sense that he was dating Kim Sae Ron during that time too.”

Another industry official explained, “The relationship timeline is a bit unclear, but they were definitely together from 2017 to 2019. As for Kim Sae Ron, she and Kim Soo Hyun only dated briefly between 2019 and 2020.” They also said Kim Sae Ron had a crush on Kim Soo Hyun for a long time and they started dating after she became an adult.

Meanwhile, Kim Sae Ron was also known to have dated other men during those years—including WOODZ and a former athlete. She reportedly didn’t hide her relationship with WOODZ and even sent a coffee truck to his MV set.

Last month, Kim Sae Ron claimed on YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute that she dated Kim Soo Hyun for six years, starting when she was just in 9th grade. She even shared an alleged text to a friend saying, “I dated (Kim Soo Hyun) from November 19, 2015, to July 7, 2021. I was 16 and he was 30. That’s how our 6-year relationship ended.”

However, her claims were soon questioned. At that time, Kim Soo Hyun was actually 28, not 30. The “2016 photo” she mentioned turned out to be taken after 2019. She also referred to his agency as Golden Medalist when it’s actually Gold Medalist, and there’s no record of her working behind-the-scenes there.

Some of the “proof” she showed also turned out to be incorrect—like a photo she claimed was taken at Kim Soo Hyun’s house, which reportedly included other people and was filmed in a group setting.

In response to the situation, Kim Soo Hyun has now filed a massive 12 billion KRW (around 120 million USD) damages lawsuit against Kim Sae Ron’s family. He also filed criminal charges against her family and Garo Sero Institute CEO Kim Se Ui for defamation and violating the law on sexual violence.

Kim Soo Hyun’s legal team confirmed that they have paid a lawsuit fee of around 38 million KRW, which is based on the size of his claim. They also asked the court to verify the identity of a woman claiming to be Kim Sae Ron’s aunt.

His lawyer stated, “We filed all the required paperwork and paid the fees. The court hearing date will likely depend on the progress of the criminal investigation.”

With so many conflicting stories and new evidence coming to light, fans are watching closely to see what truth will be revealed next.
