  • BIGBANG’s Daesung Opens Up About His Struggles as a Rookie, Confesses He Felt ‘Miserable’ About His Singing Skills – You Won’t Believe What He Said

BIGBANG’s Daesung just got real about his struggles as a rookie in the latest episode of his YouTube show "Jip Daesung"—and it’s an emotional moment you won’t want to miss!

On February 7, Daesung dropped a new video titled "Singing Apologies | So Funny, Sorry Sorry (All Lies)" on the "Jip Daesung" channel, where he was joined by Kyuhyun, the lead of the musical "The Man Who Laughs". In this funny and heart-to-heart conversation, Daesung shared some surprising truths about his early years as a singer.

When Kyuhyun asked what he does on his days off, Daesung revealed that even after 20 years in the industry, he still takes vocal lessons! This revelation left Kyuhyun in awe, but Daesung then opened up about his rookie days, saying, “I felt incredibly miserable because of my singing skills, which needed constant work.”

It turns out that Daesung’s journey wasn’t always easy. He shared, “I’ve been taking lessons from the same teacher for 8 years now. Through these lessons, I learned to accept my differences and realized, 'This is my life. I need to take care of my vocal cords,' which helped me feel better about myself.”

Kyuhyun, impressed by Daesung’s dedication, joked about how their mutual friend, musical actor Park Eun Tae, is also obsessed with taking lessons. To everyone's surprise, Daesung revealed, “We share the same teacher,” which left Kyuhyun laughing.

In a playful moment, Kyuhyun joked, “Isn’t the teacher a bit of a gaslighter? Getting people who don’t need lessons to keep coming for 8 years.” Daesung couldn’t help but laugh along.

Daesung also took the chance to praise Kyuhyun’s vocal skills, calling him a “genius-level vocalist.” Kyuhyun humbly replied, “No, I really improved a lot during recording. I grew so much while performing live. I think I matured and improved on-site.”

It’s clear that even after all these years, Daesung continues to work hard and grow as an artist, showing fans that improvement is always possible no matter how long you've been in the game.
