A new documentary about BTS's RM is set to hit more than 3,000 screens around the world!
On October 4, at the 2024 CJ Movie Forum 'Navigating the New Paradigm' in Busan, details were revealed about the documentary RM: Light People, Long Place (directed by Lee Seok-jun). The film follows the creation process of RM's second solo album and is an official selection in the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
This documentary shows the nearly eight-month journey of making RM's solo album, including personal interviews with him.
It explores RM's ongoing journey of self-discovery as the leader of BTS, a solo artist, and as Kim Namjoon, the person behind the music.
This is a big deal because it's the first time a K-pop documentary has been officially selected for the Open Cinema section at the Busan International Film Festival.
During the announcement, Oh Yoon-dong, head of production at CJ 4DPLEX, shared, "CJ 4DPLEX has been working to provide extreme immersion for audiences worldwide." He also added, "Starting with this RM content, we plan to distribute it ourselves. We are set to release it on over 3,000 screens globally beginning in December."
