BTS's Jungkook has once again shown his incredible global influence with his first solo documentary film, Jungkook: I Am Still. According to The Numbers, a site that tracks box office numbers, the film made over $11.65 million (about 15.3 billion KRW) worldwide in just 11 days, from September 18 to September 29.
Even though it's a personal documentary, Jungkook: I Am Still pulled in more than $3.12 million (about 4.1 billion KRW) in North America alone, showing just how popular Jungkook is as a global star.
The film topped box office charts in many countries after its release. In the first three days, it ranked 9th at the North American box office and debuted at No. 1 in Brazil. It also ranked 9th in Germany, 2nd in Mexico, 10th in Egypt, and 6th in Thailand. In Italy, it took 4th place on its first day, and in Venezuela and Colombia, it placed 1st and 3rd, respectively.
In South Korea, the film debuted at 5th on the daily box office chart on September 18, setting a record for the highest first-day earnings for a K-pop idol's concert film or documentary. By October 2, the audience count had reached 39,440.
Jungkook: I Am Still follows Jungkook’s journey over eight months, from releasing his first solo single "Seven" in July last year to preparing and finishing his first solo album Golden in November. The documentary includes performances, behind-the-scenes moments, and never-before-seen interviews, filmed in cities like New York, London, and Seoul.
The film also shares Jungkook's rise as a global superstar since going solo last year. Even in his 12th year since debuting, Jungkook’s hard work and passion for delivering top-notch music and performances are front and center in the documentary.
