Singer Hwasa has given fans a glimpse of her new home with a stunning view of the Han River. On September 24, she showcased her beautiful house in the web entertainment show As Morning Goes By 2.
In the episode, host Jang Sung-kyu toured Hwasa’s home. He was amazed to see luxury cars in the parking garage and exclaimed, “It’s like a motor show!” Jang also admired the elegant wooden door at the entrance, the spacious kitchen, and the breathtaking views of the Han River and nearby forest. The bright natural light in the living room really caught his eye.
When Jang woke up Hwasa, he asked, “I searched for this house, and it seems expensive. Is it around 5 billion won?” Hwasa replied, “No, I don’t own it yet. I’ve been moving around on Jeonse (lease) contracts. People tell me to buy a building, but I just think the space I’m living in is important. The moment I saw this house, I wanted to live here.”
Jang then asked, “Did you create the songs ‘Dumb Dumb’ and ‘Maria’? They’ve been huge hits, so I imagine you’re getting a lot in royalties. How much do you make each month?” Hwasa said, “I don’t pay much attention to money on purpose. I don’t want to worry about it,” and added, “When it comes in, it’s been in the millions each month,” surprising him.
Hwasa also shared her journey from debuting with MAMAMOO to now, saying, “I lost weight from the 60 kg range to the low 50 kg range in just a month to debut. I never doubted myself. I was confident that I would become a star.”
Later, Jang asked about negative comments she might receive during her activities, especially during a university festival performance. Hwasa responded, “I guess there were many uncomfortable people. I think I should reflect on that as well,” explaining, “It wasn’t something I did on purpose. Sometimes, while performing, my focus can drift. Honestly, I don’t even remember that moment.”
When Jang said, “So it wasn’t planned,” Hwasa clarified, “But actually, I couldn’t sleep at all after the performance. I was so happy. I thought, ‘This is why I perform,’” and added, “Since I was young, I’ve often been told that I was ‘too much.’ Such moments make me more cautious.”
