Actor Kim Dong Hwi has officially begun his military service.
On September 24, Kim Dong Hwi entered the 5th Infantry Division’s recruit training center in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. He will receive five weeks of basic training before serving as an active-duty soldier.
His agency, Ace Factory, shared a statement ahead of his enlistment: “We kindly ask for your warm support so that Kim Dong Hwi can faithfully complete his military duties and return healthy.”
A day before he enlisted, on September 23, Kim Dong Hwi shared a picture of his new short haircut with fans. He briefly commented, “I’ll return safely.”
Kim Dong Hwi made his debut in 2014 with the film The Royal Tailor. He became a rising star after winning several Best New Actor awards for his role in In Our Prime, where he worked alongside Choi Min Sik. He’s also been part of projects like Stranger 2, Missing: The Other Side 2, The Deal, and Comment Army.
