BTS member Jimin has shown his global popularity as his song “Promise” has now surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify!
On September 19, “Promise”, a self-composed healing song that Jimin is well-known for, reached this impressive milestone on the world’s largest music streaming platform.
With this achievement, “Promise” becomes Jimin‘s 13th song to reach over 100 million streams on Spotify. It joins other hits like “Like Crazy,” “Set Me Free Part 2,” and “With You.”
“Promise” is Jimin‘s first self-composed track, which he surprise-released on December 31, 2018, on SoundCloud. The song features gentle guitar melodies and conveys comfort and empathy, showcasing Jimin‘s clear and soft vocals.
Right after its release, “Promise” received a huge response, causing the server to crash and setting a record for the most streams within 24 hours. It reached 100 million streams by February 2019.
In June 2021, it set another record with 275.1 million streams on SoundCloud, becoming the most streamed Korean song in history, and it has since maintained its status as a beloved classic with over 333.49 million streams.
In August 2023, “Promise” was officially recognized by Guinness World Records for having the highest number of streams in the first 24 hours after its release and for being the most streamed track among over 300 million tracks on SoundCloud worldwide, earning Jimin two Guinness titles.
Ahead of his first solo album “FACE” released in March last year, Jimin officially made “Promise” available on Spotify. This highlights his impressive ability to achieve over 100 million streams without any promotions, proving his status as a leading artist!
