IU Celebrates Her Debut Anniversary with a Heartwarming 225 Million Won Donation

IU marked her debut anniversary in the most touching way! On September 18, her agency, EDAM Entertainment, shared that IU donated a total of 225 million won under the name “IUaena” to various causes. The name “IUaena” is a sweet combination of her stage name and her fan club, Uaena.

The donation was sent to the Korea Pediatric Cancer Foundation, Milk Delivery Service for the Elderly, Hansarang Village, and Hansarang Baby Care Center. This generous gift will go towards medical expenses, education, counseling, and medical supplies for children with rare diseases, and providing milk and visits to the elderly who live alone.

It will also help improve facilities for people with severe disabilities and support rehabilitation treatment at the baby care center.

This isn’t the first time IU has donated for her debut anniversary. She’s known for her kind heart and gives back every year.

Earlier this year, she donated heating costs to help vulnerable people, and in May, on her birthday, she gave 200 million won under the name “IUaena” to several charities.

Her donations have funded important things like cochlear implant surgeries for children with hearing impairments and much more.

IU shared through her agency, “Thanks to Uaena, I’ve been able to fill my heart with love and values. I’m happy to do these meaningful things every year under the name ‘IUaena.’ Even though it’s a small contribution, I hope it becomes a wonderful gift for those who receive it. Uaena, who always fills my heart with love, thank you. Let’s stay together for a long time.”

IU continues to inspire her fans with her acts of kindness. Fans are proud of her giving nature and how she spreads love every year.

Meanwhile, IU is preparing for her 2024 IU HEREH WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING, which will take place at Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 21 and 22.
