Singer Young Tak opened up about his past audition with JYP Entertainment and his journey towards a music career.
In a recent video released on Rain's YouTube channel 'Season B Season' on the 12th, Young Tak talked about his early days. He shared, “My father and uncle were professional soldiers. They suggested I follow their path, so I was getting ready to join the military when I unexpectedly found out about a music competition. I thought, 'If I win, I’ll celebrate with my friends,' so I entered and ended up winning the grand prize.”
Young Tak also recalled his move to Seoul at 22, saying, “I came here without much preparation and went to a lot of auditions. I even auditioned for JYP, but I didn’t make it.”
Struggling financially, he took on various part-time jobs. He remembered, “One day, I went to record a song for an election. It was Norazo’s 'Superman.' A few days later, the producer told me, ‘This song is doing really well.’”
Reflecting on his journey, Young Tak said, “I wondered if this was my chance to get noticed. Later, I worked on the song 'Why Are You Coming Out from There.'”
