    Red Velvet's Yeri is stepping into the world of acting with her first film role!

    On September 10, SM Entertainment announced that Yeri, whose full name is Kim Yerim, will star in the mystery horror film Next, directed by Son Dong Wan.

    In the film, Yeri plays Park Ja Young, a class president who gets involved in a séance to find her missing sister, leading to eerie and unsettling events.

    Park Ja Young is a responsible student who tries to keep her classmates safe as strange things start happening.

    The film’s story revolves around a group of friends who accidentally summon spirits during their séance.

    Yeri, known for her work with Red Velvet, has also acted in projects like Mint Condition, Blue Birthday, and Cheongdam International High School.

    She expressed her excitement about the new role, saying, "I've always been interested in horror films, so I'm thrilled to take on this challenge. It's my first film role, so I'm both nervous and excited. I’m ready to work hard with the director, staff, and actors to make a great film."
