LE SSERAFIM has made a splash on the Billboard 200 chart, setting a new record for 4th generation K-pop girl groups.
Billboard reports that LE SSERAFIM’s mini album CRAZY landed at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart for the week of September 14.
The album sold 38,000 copies and recorded 9,000 SEA units (Sales Equivalent Albums, based on streaming), marking the highest sales for the group.
With this achievement, LE SSERAFIM joins the ranks of global stars like Sabrina Carpenter, Post Malone, and Chappell Roan on the chart, showing off their strong U.S. fan base.
LE SSERAFIM is now the first 4th generation K-pop girl group to have three consecutive albums in the Billboard 200 Top 10.
They first made the chart with their mini album ANTIFRAGILE, which debuted at No. 14 in 2022. They followed up with their full album UNFORGIVEN at No. 6, mini album EASY at No. 8, and now CRAZY at No. 7.
The title track of the album, also called CRAZY, is doing great on global charts. It was streamed 3.36 million times on Spotify’s “Weekly Top Songs – US” (from August 30 to September 5) and hit No. 83, marking LE SSERAFIM’s highest chart position and streaming record yet.
Spotify, a key platform in Billboard’s Hot 100 calculations, has a huge market share in streaming worldwide.
LE SSERAFIM‘s impressive performance on Spotify has raised excitement for their future success on Billboard’s song charts.
In other news, LE SSERAFIM is set to perform on the pre-show stage of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMA) at the UBS Arena in New York on September 11 at 6:30 PM (Korean time, September 12 at 7:30 AM).
The pre-show is known for featuring “global pop stars,” highlighting LE SSERAFIM’s growing international presence.
