BTS V (Kim Taehyung) ’s solo album Layover recently celebrated its first anniversary with fan events all around the world.
Released on September 8, 2023, Layover showcased V’s unique musical style and confirmed his success as a solo artist. Fans marked the milestone with special events to show their support.
BTS V UNION, VINSIDE from Korea, and TaehyungWebsite from the U.S. joined forces to display congratulatory videos on LED screens in Times Square, New York, on September 7 and 8.
In Korea, VINSIDE ran month-long congratulatory ads on a digital billboard outside HYBE and placed banners at four locations, including near V’s military base.
Kim Taehyung Supporters Korea also put up banners at several spots, including the Chuncheon National Forest Management Office.
Chinese fanbase Baidu V Bar featured congratulatory video ads on Max Vision at Gangnam Station. They also celebrated the Layover anniversary and V’s dog Yeontan’s birthday by donating 150 kg of pet food to an animal protection group in Hangzhou.
Taehyung Malaysia donated to PAWS, a nonprofit animal protection organization, sharing V’s love for animals.
In the Philippines, ARMY Cavite Fanbase created sandcastle art in Boracay, thanking V for his album, which they see as a true sanctuary reflecting his artistic purity. They celebrated how Layover has touched their hearts and V’s love for ARMY.
Fan-created hashtags for the Layover anniversary, like #1YearWithLayover, #1YearWithSlowDancing, #FromV_행복한레이오버1주년, and #태형이의소중한선물레이오버1주년축하해, trended worldwide, with four of them reaching the top spots.
On the evening of September 8, V visited Weverse and responded to a fan’s question about his military life, saying, “It’s tough. I came to get some energy. I’ll come again later.”
V’s recent appearance during the 2024 Ulchi Training was featured in a Ministry of Unification video, where he humorously mentioned turning “a red radish” upon seeing a congratulatory banner while jogging.
At 8:58 PM, V shared a photo with Yeontan and said, “I miss you so much. And neva play is amazing. I had to come. Bye,” expressing his longing for fans and promoting RM’s new song.
