BTS member Jimin has once again won over fans, especially in Brazil, where he caused a big buzz on social media.
On August 31, Jimin’s Brazilian fans took to X (formerly Twitter) to show their love for him one last time. Due to a new government policy, they wouldn’t be able to use the platform anymore. As a final tribute, they trended “JIMIN JIMIN” to express their love.
Fans from around the world joined in, and soon “WE LOVE YOU BRAZILIAN PJMS” was trending No. 1 globally and in the U.S. It also reached No. 2 in Canada and No. 5 in South Korea. In South Korea, “JIMIN JIMIN” hit No. 1, with other hashtags like “WE WILL MISS YOU” and “WITH JIMIN TILL THE END” ranking at No. 6 and No. 7.
Brazilian fans have always shown strong support for Jimin. His second solo album MUSE and the title track “Who” recently achieved great success, thanks to their dedication.
When “Who” was released, it debuted at No. 31 on Brazil’s Billboard Hot 100, the highest debut for a Korean artist on the chart. The song later climbed to No. 25 and is now at No. 60, making it the only K-pop solo track to stay on the chart for six straight weeks.
On Spotify Brazil, Jimin’s song “Like Crazy,” released last year, became the third most-streamed K-pop track, with over 28 million streams. His new track “Who” quickly followed, reaching No. 4. Jimin now holds the top two spots for the most-streamed solo K-pop songs in Brazil.
Even though Brazilian fans can no longer show their love on X, they’ve promised to keep supporting Jimin through other platforms, saying they’ll always be there for him.
