Sam Smith Sends Heartfelt Invitation to Taeyeon: “I Want to Perform with You in Korea and Give You a Big Hug”

British pop star Sam Smith has shared his admiration for Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon!

On September 7, Taeyeon’s official YouTube channel posted a video titled “Glad that we were able to work together!”

In the video, Sam Smith expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thank you so much for reinterpreting ‘I’m Not The Only One’ with your beautiful voice.” He added, “I was deeply moved, especially hearing the Korean version in Taeyeon’s voice.”

Sam Smith also extended a warm invitation to Taeyeon, saying, “I sincerely hope that one day we can sing this song together. It would be an honor to perform it in Korea.” He continued, “Thank you for being part of my album. If we meet, I’d love to give you a big hug.” He even shared affectionate Korean greetings, saying “Thank you” and “I love you.”

Taeyeon responded with excitement, saying, “I’m such a fan and thrilled to have collaborated. It’s an honor that you chose ‘I’m Not The Only One,’ and I’m happy to see how much fans love it.”

She added, “If there’s a chance to perform in Korea, I’d love to meet you in person and give you a big hug. As a fan, I hope you keep making music for a long time. I’m looking forward to your wonderful albums.”

Taeyeon’s collaboration with Sam Smith for his 10th-anniversary album has been a big topic. On August 29, Universal Music announced that Taeyeon would be featured on the Korean version of “I’m Not The Only One” for Smith’s 10th-anniversary edition of his debut album In The Lonely Hour.

Sam Smith, known for hits like “I’m Not The Only One, “Unholy,” and “Stay With Me,” has won Grammy Awards, Brit Awards, Golden Globes, and Oscars, and is beloved around the world.
