BTS’ Jungkook sets new Spotify record with 3 songs surpassing 800 million streams

Jungkook from BTS has once again shown his global impact by reaching a huge milestone on Spotify.

His solo track “Standing Next to You,” which dropped last November, just hit over 800 million streams on Spotify. In only 279 days, the song gathered 802,144,602 streams, proving its strong global appeal.

The ‘World Music Awards’ (WMA) announced, “Jungkook has made history as the first Asian solo artist to have three songs surpass 800 million streams on Spotify.”

The three songs that hit this mark are “Standing Next to You,” “Seven,” and “Left and Right.” WMA called Jungkook a true ‘history maker.’

He now ranks second for the most songs with over 800 million streams among Asian artists, right after BTS, who have five songs over this mark.

Jungkook had already broken records as the K-pop solo artist with the most songs surpassing 600 million streams (with 4 songs) and 100 million streams (with 18 songs) on Spotify. He also holds the record for the most songs with over 700 million streams (3 songs) among Asian solo artists, showing his status as a ‘record-breaking machine.’

“Standing Next to You” topped the ‘Daily Top Songs Global’ chart and has stayed in the top 50 for more than 120 days. The song continues to perform well, spending over 300 days on the chart.
