• DAY6 to Make History as First K-Pop Band to Rock Gocheok Dome

    Big news for DAY6 fans! The boy band is set to make history as the first Korean band to perform at the iconic Gocheok Dome.

    On September 4th, JYP Entertainment confirmed to Star News that DAY6 (Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon) is currently exploring the possibility of a year-end concert at the venue. Details are still to come, but fans are buzzing with excitement over this groundbreaking event.

    Since their debut, DAY6 has made it a tradition to hold special year-end concerts, much to the delight of their global fanbase, MyDay. Last year, after reuniting post-military service, they held a memorable Christmas concert at Korea University Hwajeong Gymnasium, bringing joy to their dedicated followers.

    The anticipation for this year’s concert venue was high, and now it’s official—DAY6 will be taking the stage at Gocheok Dome, marking a major milestone in their 9th year as a group.

    Fresh off the release of their 9th mini-album Band Aid on September 2nd, DAY6 is gearing up for their third world tour, FOREVER YOUNG, which kicks off from September 20 to 22 at Inspire Arena in Incheon, Yeongjongdo.

    And it’s not just about the live performances—Band Aid has already made waves on the charts. Within just 3 hours of its release, the album topped Melon’s Top 100, Hot 100, and real-time charts, as well as Genie, Bugs, and Vibe's domestic rising charts. This marks DAY6's first major chart sweep in their 10th year, underscoring their continued popularity.

    The title track "I Am Melting" made a huge splash, debuting at No. 5 on Melon Top 100 shortly after its release at 7 PM, climbing to No. 2 by 8 PM, and hitting No. 1 by 9 PM. All eight tracks from the album, including "Monster," "She Smiled," "Sad Game," "Help Me Rock & Roll," "COUNTER," "I'm Fine," and "Still There," made their mark on Melon Top 100, Genie, and Bugs by 7 PM.

    Additionally, their earlier track "Welcome to the Show," released five months ago, saw a resurgence, peaking at No. 3 on Melon Top 100 as of midnight on the 3rd. By 8 AM, DAY6 had 12 songs on Melon Top 100, including hits like "One Page," "Pretty," and "HAPPY," with four tracks in the Top 10: "I Am Melting," "Welcome to the Show," "One Page," and "HAPPY."

    DAY6’s strong chart presence and upcoming concert at Gocheok Dome are a testament to their enduring success and influence in the K-Pop world.

  • BTS’s Jin Dominates MY1PICK Weekly Rankings for 43 Weeks Straight

    BTS's Jin continues to shine bright with his massive popularity, securing the No. 1 spot in the MY1PICK weekly rankings for an impressive 43 consecutive weeks!

    In the MY1PICK K-POP Individual Category Weekly Ranking for the third week of December (December 16–22), Jin earned a massive 6,154,905 hearts, keeping his position at the top. From the 5th week of February to the 3rd week of December, Jin has been unbeatable in the weekly rankings, proving he has an enormous fanbase and global influence.

    But Jin’s achievements don’t stop there. In November, he dominated the K-POP Individual Category Monthly Ranking, topping it with 25,452,283 hearts. He has held the No. 1 spot for 11 months straight, from January to November, showing his continuous popularity throughout the year.

    Jin also claimed victory in the One Pick Chart’s “November Monthly Chart K-POP (Solo)” category, holding the No. 1 position for 8 months in a row, from April to November. On top of that, he won the 2024 Season Chart K-POP (SOLO) for both the 2nd and 3rd quarters, making him the best One Pick star of the season.

    The Season Chart awards honor artists who have consistently earned love from fans, with a physical trophy given to the top artist. Jin’s back-to-back victories solidify his place as one of the most beloved stars in K-pop.

    Jin’s fan power doesn’t end with rankings. He’s also triumphed in numerous themed votes, taking first place in categories like “Star You Want to Collect All Photo Cards Of,” “Star You Want to See First Pitch at a Baseball Game,” “Best Cooking Genius Idol,” “Star Who Would Be the Best Child,” and “Star You Would Fall in Love With at First Sight.” His reward advertisement for the “Star You Want to Collect All Photo Cards Of” vote began airing on December 26 and can be seen at Yeoksam Station until December 30.

    Meanwhile, Jin’s first solo album Happy was released on November 15 and quickly became a global hit, showcasing his talents as a solo artist.
