DAY6 (Sungjin, Young K, Wonpil, Dowoon) has finally reached the top of the music charts after nine long years, and they couldn’t be more thrilled!
On September 2 at 6 PM, DAY6 dropped their ninth mini album, 'Band Aid,' and it has already made waves.
The album title 'Band Aid' cleverly mixes 'Band'—referring to the rock group—with 'Aid,' symbolizing support and healing, like a bandage. This reflects DAY6’s mission to uplift and encourage their fans through their music.
The lead track 'Melting' quickly made its mark, landing in the top 5 of Melon’s TOP 100 chart within an hour of its release.
By 7 PM on September 3, all tracks from the album had charted, with 'Monster' at 22nd, 'She Smiled' at 26th, 'Bad Game' at 36th, 'Help Me Rock & Roll' at 46th, 'COUNTER' at 56th, 'Still Alive There' at 62nd, and 'I'm Fine' at 63rd.
DAY6's success didn’t stop there. By 9 PM on September 2, 'Melting' had topped the charts. By 11 AM on September 3, DAY6 had achieved a 'chart all-kill,' hitting number one on all five major Korean music charts—Melon, Genie, Bugs, Vibe, and Flo. This is the first time they’ve achieved this feat since their debut in 2015.
In an interview with Newsen on September 3, DAY6 shared, “This moment is so special because it’s been a long time coming. When we heard we were No. 1, it felt like a dream and brought us to tears. We truly believe this success is thanks to the incredible support from our fans.”
They added, “We’re deeply thankful to My Day (DAY6’s official fan club) for always standing by us. We want to give back the joy we’ve received and hope to bring even more happiness to our fans. With heartfelt gratitude, we’ll keep delivering great music and performances while staying true to our roots. Thank you so much!”
