    BLACKPINK's Jennie is set to take on a new challenge as she becomes the eighth "Gabriel" on JTBC's variety show My Name is Gabriel.

    Jennie has confirmed her appearance on the show and will make her debut in the 13th episode, airing on September 27th. Her journey will continue in the 14th episode on October 4th.

    The show's production team shared that Jennie will be living as "Maria," a guesthouse owner in a small village near Rome, Italy. For 72 hours, Jennie will fully immerse herself in Maria's life, taking on tasks like welcoming guests, cooking meals, organizing banquets, and even leading cooking classes.

    This experience will offer fans a unique glimpse into Jennie's personality and charm.

    Jennie's character poster, where she is seen as "Maria" smiling while cooking, has already captured the attention of many. Fans are eager to see how Jennie, known worldwide as an icon of the MZ generation, will embrace her role as the guesthouse owner.

    With Jennie joining the show, the complete lineup of all eight Gabriels has been revealed. The show started with Park Bo Gum as the first Gabriel, followed by Park Myung Soo, Yum Hye Ran, Hong Jin Kyung, Ji Chang Wook, Dex, Gabi, and now Jennie, who will bring the series to a memorable close.     Hyun Bin, who first rose to fame in My Name is Kim Sam-soon, took the time to reflect on the character that made him a household name. He shared, “I was just following the script; there were no personal opinions added to the character of Hyun Jin-heon. At that time, I knew Hyun Jin-heon was portrayed as a ‘bad boy,’ and the way it was expressed was different from today’s standards.”

    With My Name is Kim Sam-soon now being re-released as part of Wavve's "New Classic" project, fans are revisiting the 2005 drama, and the character of Hyun Jin-heon is under fresh scrutiny. Director Kim Yun-cheol even admitted that the "prince on a white horse" and "bad boy" tropes that once worked in 2005 don’t quite match today's sensibilities, leading to edits in the 2024 version.
