It's been reported that actress Han So Hee's mother has been arrested.

According to TV Chosun, Han So Hee's mother, known as Shin, who is in her 50s, was taken into custody on September 2nd.

She’s accused of running 12 illegal gambling dens in places like Ulsan and Wonju from 2021 until the end of last month, using someone else as the front for her operations.

Reports say that customers at these illegal gambling dens used a website, where Shin was the distributor, to load game money and play games like baccarat.

Shin has faced multiple lawsuits for charges including fraud and has been fined for similar offenses in the past.

When the controversy over her mother’s debts and refusal to repay them came to light, Han So Hee distanced herself, explaining that she hasn’t been in contact with her mother for a long time.

In March 2022, Han So Hee's agency released a statement saying, "There have been several similar incidents involving her mother’s fraud cases," adding, "There was even a case of forgery of private documents. A civil trial was held over these incidents, and the court decided that Han So Hee was not involved in any of them."
