    BTS's Jimin has just broken another record, proving his incredible popularity once again. Jimin claimed the top spot in the global K-pop idol popularity vote, 'KDOL,' for the third week of August (August 19 to August 25, 2024), with an impressive 44,768,672 hearts.

    This victory marks Jimin's 168th time topping the weekly rankings, making him the idol with the most weekly first-place finishes ever.

    Jimin enjoys huge support from fans all over the world on KDOL, and he's currently holding the No. 1 spot in the KDOL Hall of Fame with a massive total of 15,449,652,500 hearts. He leads the second-place contender by over 4.6 million hearts.

    Jimin also holds records for the most daily No. 1 finishes, with 1,116 days at the top, and the most monthly No. 1 finishes, with 36 months at the top. He set the record for the highest monthly vote total with 3,066,876,445 hearts and received the most votes on his birthday with 2,686,681,922 hearts.

    Jimin also has the most daily votes, the most weekly votes with 2,749,178,562 hearts, and the longest streak of consecutive daily No. 1 finishes at 61 days.

    As of August 30, Jimin's winning streak continues, holding the No. 1 spot in the daily ranking for six days straight with 8,262,515 hearts. His fandom power is undeniable, as Jimin leads in 10 different categories in the Hall of Fame.

    The global K-pop idol popularity voting app 'KDOL' allows fans to vote from all over the world, including the United States, Japan, Southeast Asia, and South Korea.     Hyun Bin, who first rose to fame in My Name is Kim Sam-soon, took the time to reflect on the character that made him a household name. He shared, “I was just following the script; there were no personal opinions added to the character of Hyun Jin-heon. At that time, I knew Hyun Jin-heon was portrayed as a ‘bad boy,’ and the way it was expressed was different from today’s standards.”

    With My Name is Kim Sam-soon now being re-released as part of Wavve's "New Classic" project, fans are revisiting the 2005 drama, and the character of Hyun Jin-heon is under fresh scrutiny. Director Kim Yun-cheol even admitted that the "prince on a white horse" and "bad boy" tropes that once worked in 2005 don’t quite match today's sensibilities, leading to edits in the 2024 version.
