BTS‘s Jin once again showed his worldwide popularity, creating a global buzz after appearing on a popular Japanese TV show.
On August 31, Jin made an appearance on Japan’s ‘Nihon TV‘ (NTV) during their annual charity event, ‘24-Hour TV.’ The program is known for its special t-shirts, with proceeds from their sales going to charity.
In the ‘Oh!! Everyone’s Zoo‘ segment, Jin joined Arashi‘s Aiba, a beloved Japanese idol, in a volunteer activity where they bathed and groomed rescue dogs.
‘Oh! Oh!! Everyone’s Zoo’ is a famous show that was originally hosted by the late Japanese comedian Shimura Ken and is now hosted by Aiba after Shimura Ken‘s passing.
The segment was filmed in Yongin, South Korea, where Jin met up with Aiba. The encounter between BTS‘s Jin and Arashi‘s Aiba became a hot topic.
The “Visual King” Jin warmly welcomed Aiba to Korea and kept a cheerful and bright atmosphere throughout the shoot.
He carefully bathed the dogs, trimmed their fur, and cleaned up, all while the dogs cuddled up to him, showing their affection. The chemistry between Jin and Aiba was clear.
Jin shared his thoughts on the activity, saying, “I chose this for a reason. If I show this side of myself, maybe people who aren’t interested might think, ‘Maybe I should try volunteering with rescue dogs too.'”
More footage of Jin, including unreleased clips, will be shown in the upcoming September 7 broadcast of ‘Oh! Oh!! Everyone’s Zoo.’
As soon as Jin appeared on the program, “Jin Kun” (ジンくん) quickly shot up to second place on Japan’s X (formerly Twitter) real-time trends. The term “Jin Kun” also trended worldwide on X, proving Jin‘s incredible popularity and influence.
Back on August 17, when the announcement of Jin‘s appearance was made, “Oh!! Everyone’s Zoo” topped the search rankings on Japan’s largest portal, Yahoo Japan. “Jin Kun” also dominated the top ranks on Japan’s X and Tsuiran Japan, creating a huge buzz.
Jin has a deep love for animals, having personally adopted and cared for a rescue dog for 12 years since elementary school.
He even composed and released the touching song ‘This Night,‘ expressing his feelings for his late pet, which moved fans deeply.
Jin has also donated supplies to animal shelters, inspiring his fans to continue donating and volunteering for the well-being of rescue dogs and animals.
