• Lee Young Ji's "Drunk Driving" Comment Sparks Speculation About BTS's Suga

Lee Young Ji is facing backlash over comments that some think were aimed at BTS's Suga.

On August 24th, Lee Young Ji uploaded a video titled "Lee Soo Hyuk is a True Fan of Lee Young Ji" on her YouTube channel.

Before actor Lee Soo Hyuk appeared, Lee Young Ji showcased some alcoholic drinks she received through sponsorships. She then pointed out, "You shouldn't drink this before riding a bike; it's drunk driving."

Some viewers believe this was a reference to BTS's Suga, who was recently involved in a drunk driving incident with an electric scooter.

Suga was caught driving the scooter under the influence and fell off on a road in Hannam-dong, Yongsan District, around 11:15 PM on the 6th. His blood alcohol level was 0.227%, well over the legal limit for license revocation (0.08%).

Suga recently appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul on August 23rd for about three hours of questioning. According to the police, he admitted to the drunk driving charge during the investigation.

Following the police investigation, Suga issued his second handwritten apology. In a letter posted on Weverse, he wrote, "I deeply apologize for disappointing and hurting my fans and everyone who loves me due to my wrongful actions. I forgot the responsibility to repay the love I have received with appropriate behavior and made a grave mistake."

He added, "On the night of the 6th, I made the mistake of riding an electric scooter on the sidewalk after drinking. I also apologize for causing confusion with the hasty first apology I posted on August 7th."

Suga further expressed, "This incident has left a significant stain on the precious memories I’ve created with my fellow members and fans, and I have brought shame to the name of BTS. I am sorry that my actions have caused my members, who have always trusted me, to go through a difficult time. I feel nothing but deep regret towards the fans who have always shown me more love than I deserve."
