BTS’s Jin has set a new record for the most likes ever in Gucci’s history!
On August 8, Gucci announced Jin as its global ambassador, causing a huge buzz. The announcement was so popular that Gucci’s website crashed due to the massive traffic surge.
Jin also topped Google searches related to Gucci worldwide, proving his massive influence as a global star.
According to Allkpop, Jin’s post has surpassed Kendall Jenner’s record, becoming the most-liked post ever for Gucci.
The post on Gucci’s official X (formerly Twitter) account received 112,000 likes, breaking the previous record held by Harry Styles with 111,000 likes.
Jin also set records on Instagram. Gucci’s post welcoming him as an ambassador hit over 3.5 million likes and more than 40,000 comments, making it the most-liked and most-commented post in Gucci’s history. The post gained 1.7 million likes in just 6 hours, beating Kendall Jenner’s record of 1.6 million likes.
All Gucci posts featuring Jin now rank among the top 20 most-liked posts on Gucci’s Instagram, including the top spot.
On September 9, Harper's BAZAAR released a photoshoot of Jin, called the "God of Beauty," showcasing him in Gucci gear.
This led to a sellout of Gucci’s Marina Chain Necklace, priced around 2.16 million KRW in the U.S., and similar items sold out in Japan as well.
In Japan, Gucci’s trademark chain necklace with a pendant (760,000 KRW), G Motif single earring (470,000 KRW), and a viscose jersey sweatshirt (2.59 million KRW) all sold out.
The black backpack worth approximately 4.07 million KRW that Jin wore also disappeared from Tokyo stores quickly.
Gucci items worn by Jin flew off the shelves in Japanese stores, with a flood of inquiries and bookings showing Jin’s incredible global influence.
The September issue of Harper's BAZAAR, featuring Jin on the cover, became a bestseller on major online bookstores like Aladin and Yes24 in all three versions.
On Rakuten, Japan's top e-commerce platform, pre-orders for Jin’s issue also hit the No.1 spot, highlighting his unmatched global popularity.
Jin, who completed his military service on June 12, was named the global ambassador for French high jewelry maison Fred on July 8.
This announcement led to the quick sellout of items he wore, including a necklace worth 134.6 million KRW, a bracelet worth 37.5 million KRW, and earrings worth 17.2 million KRW.
Fred’s website even crashed due to the surge in traffic, showcasing Jin’s record-breaking popularity and cementing his status as a “Sold-Out King” and leading global superstar.
