Actor Ji Soo, who took a break from the spotlight due to school violence allegations, is giving fans a hint about his return.
On August 23, Ji Soo shared a video titled “JisooRoad: Actor Kim Jisoo’s JisooRoad Movie Vlog Documentary,” where he reflects on his time away. The video shows him boarding a train and talking about his recent hiatus.
Ji Soo mentioned, “It feels like it has been about four years. I went on a solo trip to Geomundo four years ago, and now I’m finally coming back.” He added, “A lot has happened in these years. I’ve finished my military service and cleared up misunderstandings with people who had issues with me. I’m getting ready to slowly ease back into my career.”
In the video,Ji Soo arrives at Seoul Station and heads to Hyehwa Station, saying, “I was on my way home but decided to stop by here to walk around and remember the past. I used to do theater activities with my acting teacher, and I also auditioned and practiced in Daehangno during high school about 12-13 years ago.”
Ji Soo is excited about returning to acting, sharing, “I want to try stage acting again. I’m interested in theater and musicals and also making short films.”
He added, “Filming for YouTube has been fun, and I’d like to work on English-language projects. I studied English a lot during my public service, and with the audience becoming more global, I want to create something international. I’m also open to acting in English if the chance comes up.”
Ji Soo was involved in a school violence scandal in March 2021, which led him to leave the drama “River Where the Moon Rises.”
At that time, he apologized, saying, “I sincerely apologize to those who suffered because of me. There’s no excuse for my past actions. I feel I received too much attention while hiding my past, and I’ve always felt guilty and anxious about it.”
In July 2021, Ji Soo’s legal team revealed that he had filed a defamation complaint against the original accuser and a commenter. However, both were found not guilty after the police investigation.
Ji Soo completed his alternative military service as a social service worker after enlisting in October 2021 and was discharged last October.
