Ji Chang Wook Opens Up About Audition Struggles: “Rejections Are Tough, Especially When They Seem Disinterested”

Ji Chang Wook shared some tough audition stories on August 23 during the JTBC show My Name is Gabriel.

In the episode, Hong Jin-kyung and her friends visited a local club in Rwanda after attending several designer store auditions. Hong Jin-kyung, who was there for cultural exploration rather than partying, explained that her 19-year-old brother Kevin was with them on their mother’s advice, only drinking cola.

During the club visit, Hong Jin-kyung talked about her casting experience, feeling optimistic about a potential offer from teacher Matteo and receiving praise for her runway skills.

However, her friends were critical of their performance and took Hong Jin-kyung’s advice to learn from their mistakes.

Ji Chang Wook, reflecting on his own audition experiences, revealed that he faced many rejections. He shared, “The worst part was when I could feel the judges weren’t interested in me at all. It was really hard to deal with that lack of interest.”
