IU’s upcoming concert has sold out 100,000 seats almost instantly.
On August 16, EDAM Entertainment announced that IU’s '2024 IU HERE WORLD TOUR CONCERT ENCORE: THE WINNING' at Seoul World Cup Stadium on September 21 and 22 is completely sold out. Tickets for both the fan club pre-sale on August 12 and the general sale on August 14 were snapped up quickly.
This encore concert wraps up IU’s world tour, which has taken her to 18 cities in five months, a major achievement for a solo artist in Korea.
Interest in IU surged dramatically on August 12, with Google searches for 'IU' and 'IU concert' skyrocketing by 100% and 400%, respectively. Ticket sales saw a huge spike in searches, peaking at 100 hits in just 25 minutes.
The teaser video released on August 12, showing IU with a 'golden bat' and ‘dew’ falling like snow, captured attention and resonated with her recent mini-album The Winning, featuring the title tracks 'Shopper' and 'Dew.'
IU is set to make history as the first female artist to fill both the Jamsil Main Stadium and Seoul World Cup Stadium, each hosting over 100,000 fans. To manage the large crowd, special attention is being given to turf maintenance, including staff training on safety, proper turf protection, and watering with ventilated covers.
IU’s upcoming performance will make her the first female musician to headline both of Korea’s largest concert venues.
