• 'Serendipity's Embrace' Finale Falls Short in Ratings Despite Solid Cast

'Serendipity's Embrace,' the much-anticipated tvN drama, wrapped up on August 13th, but it didn't quite hit the mark with viewers.

Despite a happy ending for the main characters, Hong Joo (Kim So Hyun) and Hoo Young (Chae Jong Hyeop), the show struggled to gain traction in terms of viewership.

In the final episode, after a series of coincidences, Hong Joo and Hoo Young finally chose each other. The story ends with them deciding to start a long-distance relationship as Hoo Young leaves for the U.S., with Hong Joo surprising him by deciding to join him there, leading to a passionate farewell kiss.

However, the drama's ratings tell a different story. 'Serendipity's Embrace' began with a promising 3.877% viewership rating for its first episode, but it never managed to surpass this figure.

The ratings dipped to the 2% range from episodes 3 to 6, and the final episode only reached 3.096%, according to Nielsen Korea.

Despite its low ratings, the show did manage to maintain a dedicated audience. It ranked first on the TV-OTT integrated chart for the second week of August, according to FUNdex.

The cast also remained popular, with Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim So Hyun ranking first and second, respectively, in terms of cast popularity.

While 'Serendipity's Embrace' didn't quite live up to expectations, it still found a small but loyal fanbase, proving that even with lower ratings, a drama can leave a lasting impression.
