BTS member Suga (Min Yoongi) is facing claims about riding an electric scooter while drunk, and a new trend on social media is stirring up trouble.
Fans are posting photos of themselves with steering wheels and alcohol bottles under the hashtag #SugaChallenge. But there are growing suspicions that this might be a setup by anti-fans.
As of August 12th, social media, especially X (formerly Twitter), is filled with posts showing people holding alcohol bottles inside cars with the hashtag ‘#SugaChallenge’.
Some of these posts include messages like "I always support Suga" and "I’ll be with you," which seem to support him.
However, this isn’t typical behavior from BTS’s fanbase, ARMY. Evidence shows that anti-fans may be using platforms like Pinterest to spread these posts, suggesting they might be trying to harm Suga’s reputation on purpose.
Some people have even posted photos of themselves drinking while driving, mocking Suga with the ‘#SugaChallenge’ hashtag.
There’s concern that some international ARMYs might be jumping to conclusions about Suga. Given BTS’s global fame, there are people who don't like the group, and some believe these recent actions could be a way to damage BTS’s image with negative viral content.
Industry experts agree that Suga should face proper consequences for his actions and reflect on them. ARMY also believes that, given BTS’s reputation, Suga’s mistakes need to be addressed.
Suga was booked by the police on August 7th for allegedly riding an electric scooter while intoxicated. The police plan to summon Suga again soon to look into how much he drank and the details of the incident. Suga and his agency, Big Hit Music, have promised to cooperate fully with the investigation.
