• Jennie in Tears as BLACKPINK Reunites After 11 Months for 8th Anniversary

BLACKPINK came together as a full group for the first time in 11 months at an event marking their 8th anniversary.

On the afternoon of August 9, BLACKPINK attended the press conference for their new film, BLACKPINK WORLD TOUR BORN PINK IN CINEMAS, held at Times Square in Yeongdeungpo, Seoul. The film, celebrating their 8th anniversary, features footage from their world tour concerts and will be shown in over 110 countries.

The members—Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa—wore matching black outfits and walked the pink carpet. They also took time to sign autographs and greet fans they hadn’t seen in a while.

Jisoo thanked fans, saying, “It’s really hot today, and I’m sorry you had to wait so long. Thank you for coming and making beautiful memories with us. I missed the Blinks so much.”

Jennie got emotional, saying, “Thank you to all the Blinks who have supported us for 8 years. It’s such a hot day, and you’ve all worked so hard.”

Rosé added, “Even though it’s our 8th anniversary, people came to see us from both Korea and abroad. Thanks for the congratulations. I hope you enjoy the movie.”

Lisa expressed her sadness about leaving, saying, “I’m so sad we have to part ways already. Thank you so much to the Blinks, and I hope you stay with BLACKPINK for a long time. Love you.”

BLACKPINK debuted in August 2016 and has since released many hit songs like “Whistle,” “BOOMBAYAH,” “Playing with Fire,” “DDU-DU DDU-DU,” “Pretty Savage,” “Pink Venom,” and “SHUT DOWN.” They’ve produced 32 songs with over 100 million streams each and continue to be a major focus in the music industry.

After finishing their world tour last September, BLACKPINK ended their contract with YG Entertainment. Jennie and Lisa started their own agencies, while Jisoo and Rosé joined The Black Label.
